WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE INSTYLE?
I graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000 with a degree in Counselor Education and finished with a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2002. I worked in pharmaceutical sales for 10 years before starting InStyle.
HOW/WHY DID INSTYLE BOUTIQUE HAPPEN?
So many reasons! Well, first I (laughing) decided to turn my shopping “addiction” into a job/business! Our customers are busy, working mamas & rock star students that do not have much free time to shop. I love being able to offer them quality and stylish items for a fraction of the big box store prices as well as offering them the ease of shopping online.
I get it, before InStyle (seven years ago) when I had 2 small children and a full-time job, I did not have time to literally GO shopping and it’s hard to even imagine now, but back then there were barely any options to shop online for the type of items we sell at the prices we offer! So, my next baby, InStyle, was born! We are going strong and our customers are some of the coolest, and most fun women around. I feel like I know them and most are across the country!

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
During the lives I always tell our customers how much I love leggings. It truly is my “uniform” and the prominent “staple” in my closet. I am all about being casual and comfy during the work day and for me, lucky enough, I am able to dress the way I want to!
It’s fun seeing the Athleisure trend grow to where ladies can not only wear leggings, tops and sweatshirt-like tops to the gym or to lounge around in, but with all the options available, to work as well. I am in total agreement with the fashion industry on this trend!
WHAT IS YOUR MUST HAVE ITEM DAY-TO-DAY?
Besides my Keurig/coffee pot (laughs), I would say chap stick or lip gloss of some sort!
WHAT IS A CURRENT OBSESSION OF YOURS OUTSIDE INSTYLE?
True crime-like podcasts! I am always looking for the next one to listen to. I think they are so interesting and I get so “into them”! Katye, Kaily & I listened to one on our most recent trip to Market.
SINCE YOUR LUNCH HOUR IS TAKEN UP WITH THE LUNCHTIME LIVES, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DOOR DASH SPOT?
Oh, Chick-fil-A for sure! I love their salads, soups and of course their nuggets!
YOUR FACE LIGHTS UP WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR BOYS! TALK MORE ABOUT THEM…
(smiling) Oh my boys! Well, Christopher, my husband, stays busy with his companies, coaching and hunting every chance he gets. Ethan,10, and Andrew, 8, are always playing basketball, flag football, tennis, golf, and anything else we let them play! If they aren’t literally playing a sport or with friends, they are playing their games or listening to music- they love some Michael Jackson!
SPEAKING OF MUSIC, I KNOW YOU MUST CRANK UP SOME MUSIC AT INSTYLE OCCASIONALLY! WHAT IS ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
I gotta keep my girls working and moving so I crank up some heavy metal rock! I like Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and Limp Bizkit. I know, I’m crazy (laughing)!
WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT FAVORITE ITEM OFFERED AT INSTYLE?
Without a doubt, our Kan Kan denim. Seriously, do NOT spend a fortune on jeans! This brand fits amazing, is quality and looks like brands over double the price. We offer ours around $45 and that is a steal!
BESIDES ANOTHER GREAT YEAR AT INSTYLE, WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT RIGHT NOW?
Traveling. We are planning the next trip before we even go on one! I love travelling with our kids, or just Christopher and me! Experiences are more important to me than things. Making memories with my family and friends excites me. And, of course, shopping InStyle for those getaways!
